Sophie the giraffe from Vulli is the popular teething toy made of 100% natural Latex from the Hevea rubber tree and food colouring. Sophie has over 50 years of history! With this many years of history and its 100% natural material, it gives me a peace of mind giving it to my baby knowing that it's safe :)
Sophie very often makes appearances in the media such as magazines because many babies of celebrities love her and they always have a Sophie in their hand when they are out and about!
So here's my collection of Sophie:
Aren't they adorable? Please read on while I introduce them one by one.
The Teething Ring:
I got my first Sophie from a friend when she came back from Australia and paid little one and I a visit. I have always been aware of this cute Giraffe but by that time I haven't gotten one for little one as I thought Sophie comes only in one design which is too big for little one's month (he was barely a month old). But this Sophie which my friend got me is more of like a shape of a normal teething ring that has a ring on each of the sides for easy grabbing.
The classic Sophie la giraffe:
I got this Sophie by myself from Mothercare Singapore. I think it costs me around SGD$50. This Sophie is the one that is often seen in the magazines. Babies can chew on it's ears, horns legs or which ever part that they like. My little one prefers chewing on it's legs. The downside of this Sophie is that it also serves as a squeaking toy and therefore there's a hole on her back. This always give me a headache when it comes to washing as water and detergent tend to enter the hole and there was a few times bubbles came out from the hole when little one was squeezing it.
Sophie chew cloth/ toy:
Got this Sophie on my own, can't remember how much is the price though. Little one actually prefers this one then the two mentioned earlier as he prefers chewing on the cloth.
Sophie bath toy:
Got this Sophie in a rush thinking that its a chew toy. Got home and wondered why is this chew toy so hard only to realise that it's a bath toy! Anyways, Little one had fun with it during bathtime as if squirts water out of it's mouth.
Overall, to be honest, my little one doesn't really love Sophie that much compared to other babies. But it's not Sophie's fault, it's just that my little one doesn't like to chew on teether be it silicone ones or rubber. But Sophie is a good teether despite being a little pricey, consider about it's quality and material, it's worth the money!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
Take care xx
